Time-Telling Terms Explained

• Quarter to: 15 minutes before the next hour. For example, 'quarter to eight' means 7:45.
• Half past: 30 minutes past the hour. For example, 'half past six' means 6:30.
• Ten past: 10 minutes after the hour. For example, 'ten past ten' means 10:10.
• Quarter past: 15 minutes after the hour. For example, 'quarter past nine' means 9:15.
